. Yoga is an ancient practice, which means to "join," developed as a science from years of experimentation and repetition. (Yogis wanted to be able to sit comfortably in meditation.) Yoga stills the mind with a series of practices including breath, concentration, and postures called "asanas" to focus and still the mind. Meanwhile the whole body is also sculpted and made healthy in the process - making Yoga a great alternative to exercise! A student is encouraged to start at any age and fitness level as there are many levels from beginner to a more advanced practice which involves intense breathing retention and longer meditations. Regardless Yoga remains number one or two of American fitness trends because it is effecive as a means of living and staying sane in crazy technological time.
